Meet Leilani
Dr. Leilani Cronin is the founder, owner and head drill sergeant of Bootcamp for Health. As a skilled personal health and fitness trainer, she specializes in helping her clients improve their fitness level while reducing excess body fat. Due to her extensive experience as a fitness expert, student and educator, and an author, Leilani is a much-requested speaker.
Leilani is devoted to making healthy exercise and eating habits an essential part of everyone's life, regardless of age or background. She is proud to have made a difference in the lives of thousands of people in and out of Texas. Leilani's many achievements include:
- Earned an M.A. and Ph.D. in Kinesiology from The University of Texas at Austin
- Appointed to the Texas Advisory Board of Athletic Trainers by Governor Rick Perry
- Lectured before such organizations as the American College of Sports Medicine and the Texas Health department, and local medical conferences
- Published articles in such journals as Medicine & Science in Sports & Excercise
- Won the INBF Texas Shredder Classic, 2003, Masters II Division
- Founded Body Image, Inc., Seattle, Washington and Austin, Texas; group and individual fitness training programs, 1991-2004
Leilani is active within her community as a member of Houston's First Baptist Church and the Hawaiian Aikane Club. She volunteers at the Carenet Pregnancy Center of Houston, MD Anderson Cancer H.O.P.E. Clinic for the Underserved, and is the facilitator for a small in-home Bible study group. In addition, she has served as a H.O.P.E. juror for the Intercultural Cancer Council.
Leilani is married and the proud mother of two adult children. She enjoys water skiing, running, weight-lifting, Polynesian dancing and Shito-Ryu karate.
